The first time I heard that I had an argument for 5 minutes with someone and then just gave up on the pronunciation debate ! lawd! She also says paw-kee-book (pocketbook), ruff (roof), soda water, fuhniture (Furniture), fittin', fixin', shole, drank (anything except coffee), show (movie), tennis shoes (sneakers and any thing with a rubber sole)...and my favorite...dungarees (anything made of denim..jackets included.)
